Vancouver Skyline

Vancouver Skyline

Our skyline has to be one of the most beautiful one’s I have seen. You have the concrete jungle, business, homes, and towering over us, the Coastal Mountains, truly showing what beauty and awe is really all about.

Salmon Run; Goldstream Park

Salmon Run; Goldstream Park

This simply has to be one of the best trips I have ever taken. Goldstream Provincial Park’s day-use area is located 16 km northwest of Victoria, on the Trans Canada Hwy (Hwy 1) at the junction of Hwy 1 and Finlayson Arm Road.
From October through to December of each year, Goldstream is treated to one of nature’s spectacles as Chum, Coho and Chinook salmon, begin their journey to reach their spawning grounds in Goldstream river which is fed from the Pacific Ocean. With the closure of the river to fishing, there has been a return of the Bald Eagle, which …read more

47th Annual Carol Ship Parade of Lights

47th Annual Carol Ship Parade of Lights

The Carol Ship parade started 47 years ago with just one boat decorated with Christmas lights in Coal Harbour.
Now, on peak evenings, this tradition has grown to more then 80 boats all beautifully decorated with lights.  It is a truly amazing site to see!
The 23 night festival runs from Dec 01 to Dec 23, with the weekends being the best time to view the parade as this when the most boats are participating.
The ships like to vary their routes so you might spot them at different places like over in False Creek or passing under the Lions Gate Bridge or …read more

Some of the best diving can be found on Vancouver Island. In particular Campbell River, Barkley Sound, the Greater Victoria and anywhere in between. One dive site that I hold near and dear to my heart is the HMCS Saskatchewan. …read more
