I thought I would post some information on visa requirements for those wishing to visit Canada, and more specifically beautiful Vancouver!

Applying for a Canadian Visitor Visa (or tourist visa) is necessary if you wish to enter the country for the purpose of tourism/ visiting.
These visa’s will allow you to stay in the country for a period of six months.

There are three categories in which you can apply for a Visitor’s Visa:

Single entry Canada Visitor Visa- This category allows you to visit once for a period of no more then six months. However, once in the country you can apply for a Canadian visa extension, as long as you do so no later then 30 days before your original visa expires.

Multiple entry Canada Visitor Visa- Under this category you may enter and depart on several occasions during the validity of your Canada Visitor Visa. You will need to specify the length of time you require. The length of time awarded will be decided by an issuing case officer.

Transit Canada Visa- This category is intended for people entering the country en route to another destination, who will be spending no longer then 48 hours in the country.

To apply for a visa you may be required to meet certain eligibility criteria:

• Possess sufficient funds to support yourself and your family during the duration of your visit;
• Do not intend to seek or undertake employment;
• Have no criminal record and intend to abide by the laws of the country;
• Will not pose a security risk;
• You may also be required to complete a medical examination, if required
