Joel Kroeker and the Clumsy Lovers
8pm on Saturday May 10 at Millennium Place- Double-bill performance
Whistler Arts Council’s last show for Performance Series 07/08
With the lyrical weight of Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits, coupled with the sonic landscape of Elvis Costello and Coldplay, some have likened Joel Kroeker’s reckless precision to John Mayer after years in Alcatraz. His range of pop, jazz, folk and rock cross paths with the sounds of the Clumsy Lovers. The clumsy Lovers embody the whimsical pop of The Barenaked Ladies, the raucous rootsiness of the Great Big Sea, the alt-country of Blue Rodeo and the tradionalism of The Dunhks, but set against the backdrop of the Vancouver skyline.
Check out Canada’s best roots-folk-rock double bill on May 10 at the Millennium Place to celebrate the end of Performance Series 07/08
