The 63rd Annual Steveston Salmon Festival is being held on Canada Day. The day begins at 10am with a parade through historic Steveston village, which features 100 entries including floats, marching bands, celebrities, politicians, community groups, vintage vehicles and much much more.
The Official festival kick-off is on the Main Stage at 12:30 pm with the dignitaries, speeches, and the singing of O Canada. After, the stage features great entertainment all afternoon until 5pm. Soaring Gas Prices Effecting BC Tourism

The soaring price of gas is sending shock waves far beyond the gas pumps!
High gas and diesel prices are pushing up the price of everything from food, to the price of catching a cab, a plane or a ferry. All of which means fewer tourists visiting Vancouver.
The B.C. Passenger Transportation Board has said that of July 12, cab and limousine fares will jump 3.5 percent, due to rising fuel costs.
The Transportation Board has also reviewed the issue of implementing a fuel surcharge, and have agreed to issue a temporary fuel surcharge which will take effect July 1.

The BC Centre for Ability is a local charitable organization providing a wide range of services for children, youth and adults with disabilities. This comes from the Nudibranchs family. Currently there are hundreds of them on each of the dive sites that you can visit in the Sechelt inlet, this image was taken in Tuwanek in about 60 feet of water. When swimming they appear to be performing a beautiful ballet dance.
