593978_killer_whale.jpgKiller Whales, or Oracas, are found in all the world’s oceans, but nowhere are they more accessible for viewing and studying then in Canada’s west coast waters.
Learning everything you can about Killer Whales is the best way to protect them.

  • How do new pods form?
  • Where do the resident Killer Whales go in the winter months?
  • Why do 50% of the newborns die in their first year?
  • How do Killer Whales communicate?
  • Are Killer Whales susceptible to environmental toxins?
  • Is the increase in boat traffic affecting Killer Whale behavior?

Researchers in Canada and in the US have been investigating groups of Killer Whales that have frequented our area for more then 25 years.
Once widely feared, Killer Whales are much more understood then decades ago because of the dedication of these researchers.
