The Hero in Your Speaker Seriesis a unique opportunity to meet some of BC’s greatest sports personalities at the BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.
Every Wednesday this summer, starting July 9 and running through to September 21, different Hall of Fame inductees will present their stories to the public starting at 1pm.
Visitors will have the chance for autographs, questions and pictures with the guest speaker.
Speakers this year will include media legend Steve Armitage, boxer and Olympic bronze medalist Dave Walters, Canada’s greatest rugby player Garath Rees and many, many more Hall of Fame inductees.

HSBC Celebration of Light

Since 1990, Vancouver has been the host to this spectacular international fireworks competition.
Formally known as Benson & Hedges Symphony of Fire, competitions were held around the world, most notably in the Canadian cities of Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
In 2000 the Canadian government restricted tobacco advertising and Benson & Hedges pulled out of their sponsorship of the million dollar event.
In 2001, the event was saved by HSBC Bank, BC Hydro Power Smart and the City of Vancouver.

The 63rd Annual Steveston Salmon Festival is being held on Canada Day. The day begins at 10am with a parade through historic Steveston village, which features 100 entries including floats, marching bands, celebrities, politicians, community groups, vintage vehicles and much much more.
