19 Annual Teddy Bear Picnic

The Teddy Bear Picnic will take place on Sunday 8 June at the Coquitlam Town Centre Stadium, from 11am to 4:30pm. The Teddy Bear Parade will precede the opening of the Picnic starting at 10:00am.
The parade route starts at the Coquitlam Centre Mall and winds up at the Town Centre Stadium. This promises to be a great day and great family fun, entertaining and adventure for all.

Heritage House Tour

While living in Nova Scotia, I was lucky enough to be an owner of a Heritage House, that was 179 years young. This 6th annual tour finds a soft spot in my heart. The tour is a one-day self-guided tour of 10 unique heritage homes. Visitors are to navigate the tour using a 30 page guidebook detailing the history of each house.
I will be the one knocking on the door asking to use the phone…so I can check out inside as well

Glass Sponge Reefs

I can hardly wait for this weekend as there is a presentation by Megan Baker of CPAWS & Songs by the Suncoast Singers. So, on Sat May 31st, at 1pm @ the Gibsons Heritage Playhouse.
The presentation is primarily centered on the Giant Reefs of crystalline sponges that were thought tp have died out in the Jurassic era have been found in the waters of BC.
If you are an avid scuba diver, this will certainly be of interest to you! See you there.

The Hellenic Congress of BC has announced that June 2008 is officially named the
Greek Heritage Month in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia!
Greek Day on Broadway has enjoyed tremendous success since 2005 and this year will include more cultural activities scheduled at various locations throughout Vancouver in celebration of Greek Heritage month.
The month of celebrations will start on May 26 and conclude with the grand finale, Greek Day 2008, which will take place on Sunday June 22 along the West Broadway corridor (between MacDonald and Blenheim Streets) in the heart of Kitsilano’s Greek Town.
