Lonsdale Quay

The Quay is one of Vancouver’s most popular destinations…and personally my favorite! Located on the shore of North Vancouver, which of course boosts a fabulous view of Vancouver’s Skyline and harbour. This is a multi-level complex which is home to more then 90 shops and services.

Lonsdale Quay Market has an amazing fresh Market, beautiful boutique shops, and international cuisine to eat-in or take-out. There is something for all ages, even a play area for the kids and specialty kid’s only shops.

The Old Spaghetti Factory (Gastown)

The Old Spaghetti Factory in Gastown has been one of my favorite haunts for many years. While I served in the Navy, we would berth down near Gastown, and we would have to make one of our famous Old Spaghetti Factory stops.

A little history on the Factory goes as follows; “In March 1970 the Old Spaghetti Factory opened in the Gastown district of Vancouver. The concept was a very simple one; take and old warehouse in a historic part of town and fill it with antiques and artifacts, provide the finest pasta and superb service, to make an extremely unique dining experience.”

The Factory’s Hours of Operation are:
Mon – Thurs 11:00 am – 10:00 pm
Fri & Sat 11:00 am – 11:00 pm
Sun 11:00 am – 9:00 pm

Robson Sushi Japaneses Restaurant

Robson Sushi Japanese Restaurant is one of the best sushi restaurants that I have been to.
With their semi-private booths, modern decor and an all-you-can-eat menu, I will definitely continue to go back!

The all-you-can-eat lunch menu consists of a salad and dessert bar, sushi selections, sashimi and kitchen and barbecue items such as miso soup, chicken teriyaki, bbq pork, gyoza and yakisoba. The dinner menu is almost the same except for some additons to the menu like tempura and noodles.

They also offer a selection of exotic rice wines and of course the ever present Sapporo beer, local wine and beers are also available.

Robson Sushi Japanese Restaurant is located at 1542 Robson Street, you may wish to phone ahead to make reservations, especially on the weekends. 604.688.4789

Take your dog out for lunch

Doggie Style Deli operates a great doggie-diner designed to accommodate your four-legged friend. The tables and booths have been lowered, and a “no-fault” piddle policy is all part of their efforts to provide a comfortable setting for your pet.

Specializing in the PANDEAN diet (pasteurized, nutrient dense and all natural), the meals offered are prepared fresh daily and served in silver bowls. You are welcome to bring in your own lunch and/or drinks, because this dining experience is for your pet only; there is no people food served here!

Summer hours are from 11 am to 7 pm on Monday and Tuesday, and from 10 am to 7 pm Wednesday through Sunday. Winter hours are 11 am to 6 pm on Monday and Tuesday; 10 am to 7 pm Wednesday through Saturday, and 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
Well behaved dogs need not be on a leash when inside the restaurant.
Even if you don’t have a dog, but are a dog-lover…borrow your friend’s dog for the afternoon…it is a fun and fantastic way to spend a couple of hours.
