These magnificent creatures main residence is on Princess Royal Island, Swindle Island and part of the adjacent B.C. mainland. The Spirit bear’s unique white coat is due to a rare genetic trait, the bear is not albino, and has a brown nose and eyes. The Spirit Bear was recently chosen as the official mammal of B.C., which many are hoping will help to preserve the bear’s habitat.
