Pet Friendly Vancouver

by KennyG on February 28th, 2008

Vancouver SPCADogfriendly.com rated Vancouver as North America’s #1 pet friendly city in 2006.
Select hotels, whose numbers seem to be increasing on a regular basis, allow you to bring your four-legged friend with you for your stay. There is sometimes a minimal surcharge for allowing your pet in the room, mainly due to some extra cleaning when you leave, but the small fee is well worth the opportunity to being able to travel with your much loved pet!

Many restaurants with outdoor patios and terraces will allow you to enjoy your meal with a well behaved (and leashed) dogs, I recommend phoning ahead and making sure there is space available as many locations only have a certain number of tables they allow you to sit at with pets. Coffee shops with outdoor seating are very agreeable to you sitting there with you best friend and usually even supply fresh water and a tie-up spot while you run in to get your coffee.

There are many parks and beaches that will allow you to spend time with your dog also, some are off leash parks and some aren’t, so make sure you check and please follow any rules posted at the park.

Vancouver is a great pet-friendly city….ENJOY!
