An annual Festival of New Music Composers will be held over 4 nights from (10 – 13 April). The works of 41 different composers will be featured, at the Western Front in Vancouver (303 East 8th Avenue).
The Festival is in it’s 21st year, and this festival is widely thought of as one of Canada’s most important showcases for new work, which includes both mature and emerging composers.

Jin Zhang

March 16th will see the 5th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. It’s all set to march in downtown Vancouver along Howe and Granville Street. So put your green gear or kilt on and get ready to cheer on Vancouver’s most colourful and action packed parade.

2008 Women in Film Festival

Between 1 – 8 March, and the 3rd Annual Women in Film Festival, BC will be taking place in conjunction with International Women’s Day to celebrate the accomplishments of women in film.
The Festival starts with the Female Film Frenzy, a 48 hour film contest, and culminates with the Spotlight Awards Gala, honoring key contributors to our local industry. Over 50 films from around the world will be screened, showcasing women’s voices and stories. Cultural Olympiad 2008

Celebrating the beginning of the two year countdown to the Vancouver/Whistler 2010 Winter Olympics, this series of events highlights talent not only from around BC, but also from around the world.
Various venues with be hosting hundreds of performances of contemporary, classical and Aboriginal music,, literary arts, theater, dance and film. The impressive line-up of events will begin February 1 and run through to March 21, 2008.
The Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad Gala Concert takes place on February 12, and includes performances by Feist, Suzie McNeil, Ron Sexsmith, Leela Gilday, Jorane and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
