Vancouver Beaches

by KennyG on March 17th, 2008

Almost 18km of beaches surround Vancouver. You can observe the beautiful waterfront scenery around the city by cycling, walking, driving or simply by sitting at one of the many beach site cafes and enjoying a coffee or your favorite ice cold drink.
Of course it is always better to enjoy all the activities available on the beach such as playing in the sand, swimming, wind surfing, sailing, or relaxing and enjoying the sun.
There are special areas that have been marked for swimming ensuring maximum lifeguard coverage.
Lifeguards are on duty from Victoria Day (May 19) until Labour Day (September 01) from 11:30 am to 9:00pm.

Some of the more popular beaches around Vancouver are:west_vancouver_beach.jpg
